CNC Machining

At Dynamic Die & Steel, our precision CNC machining brings precision, speed and consistency to every project. CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining uses computer-controlled tools to remove material from a solid work piece, whether metal or plastic to create highly accurate custom parts. Whether you need one-off prototypes, low-volume production runs, or full manufacture of complex components, we deliver quality, reliability and performance.

We offer 5 axis machining which allows us to machine process five sides of a component in a single setup. This all means that we can minimise setup times, reduce manufacturing time, increase accuracy which all leads towards more competitive pricing for our customers.

How to Order

Here is how simple it is to work with us:

  • Send Us Your Design – Submit your CAD drawings, 3D models, or technical sketches. We accept common file formats (e.g. STEP, DWG, DXF, IGES, and SolidWorks).
  • Review & Quotation – We will review your design, suggest adjustments if needed for manufacturability, and provide a detailed, transparent quote.
  • Material & Finish Selection – Choose the material and surface finish that best suits your application.
  • Production Scheduling – Once you approve, we schedule the machining & finishing process.
  • Manufacturing & Quality Check – We machine the part, and then inspect it to ensure it meets agreed tolerances and finish.
  • Delivery – Finished parts are cleaned, packed, and shipped or ready for collection when convenient.

Why Choose CNC Machining Services from Dynamic Die & Steel

  • Expertise & Experience – Decades in die and steel work give us deep knowledge of complex geometries, tight tolerances, and difficult materials.
  • Modern Machines – We invest in the latest CNC equipment to ensure accuracy, speed and high repeatability.
  • Quality Assurance – Every part is inspected; we maintain strict quality controls to meet or exceed your specifications.
  • Flexible Volume – From one-off prototypes to larger batch production, we adapt to your needs.
  • Competitive Pricing & Transparent Quotes – No hidden costs. Material, machining time, finishing are all broken down so you know what you are paying for.
  • Customer-Focused Service – We work in close collaboration with you to understand your needs, suggest improvements, and deliver on time.

Our CNC Machining Process

Here is an overview of how a typical project flows through our CNC machining process:

  • Design / CAD Modelling: We start with your design files (or we can assist with CAD work if required).
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM) Assessment: We check your design to ensure features are Machin able (wall thickness, hole access, tolerances, etc.).
  • Material Preparation: Sourcing or cutting the blank (metal/plastic) to size.
  • CAM Programming: Generating the toolpaths, selecting cutting tools, programming feeds & speeds. Machining Milling, turning, drilling etc., as needed. Often multiple setups if complex geometry.
  • Inspections / Measurement: Using calibrated measuring tools (micrometres, CMM) to check critical dimensions.
  • Finishing Processes: Surface treatments, coatings, polishing, deburring, as selected.
  • Final Inspection & Delivery: Ensuring the part meets all specs, packing, and shipping.

CNC Machining Materials

We can machine a wide variety of materials. Some of the common ones we work with include:

Metals:

  • Mild/low carbon steel
  • Stainless steel ( 316. 304)
  • Tool steel
  • Alloy steels
  • Aluminium alloys
  • Brass, bronze, copper
  • Titanium and other exotic alloys ( 718 , 625 )

Plastics & Polymers:

  • Nylon
  • PTFE, UHMW, etc.
  • Engineering plastics like PEEK or polycarbonate

Special materials in CNC Machining: Where needed, we can source materials with special properties (heat resistance, corrosion resistance, hardness, etc.).

CNC FAQs

What tolerances can you achieve?

Depending on material and part complexity, typically tolerances of ± 0.01-0.05 mm, tighter if required and feasible.

What is the minimum order quantity?

We can work with one-off parts, or low to medium volume batches.

What file formats do you accept?

Standard CAD formats: STEP, IGES, SolidWorks, DXF, DWG etc.

How long will my part take?

Depends on complexity, material, and finish. Typically, prototypes might take a few days; small batches perhaps a week; larger runs longer. We will give a lead-time with your quote.

Can you help with design suggestions to reduce cost?

Yes – we can advise on design for manufacturability (features, tolerances, tool access etc.) to reduce machining time and cost.

Can you machine tough material ?

We Pride ourselves in been able to work with all Grades – ( Inconels – duplex – stainless etc )

How do you ensure quality?

We use calibrated measuring tools, sometimes CMM Machining (coordinate measuring), in-process checks, plus final inspection.
